During our road trip and shoot in New Mexico, we all wore the collection the entire time. It was so great to live and play in the pieces. (Spilling salsa on stuff more than once. Woops).
I always feel right at home when I put on Wrap Pants. They're a style we've made for years – back when STATE was just me in my tiny Brooklyn apartment, hand painting stuff on my floor. I loved slipping into these in New Mexico - the crisp natural denim felt so polished and cool against the landscape. As we lounged around the Earthship one morning planning our day's schedule, I pretended for a moment that I lived there. I was a woman who knew how to clean the water filters and check the cistern levels. I could identify cacti and grew my own tomatoes from my black water supply. I was graceful and owned crisp natural denim pants and never got them dirty. No matter how hard I worked tending to my Earthship.
The reality: My pair would be covered in paint, dirt and glue within 2 days (and still look awesome! A different vibe, but still great), and I don't know the other stuff. But I'm a fast learner.
It's a fun fantasy though.
Wrap Pants feel like sculpture and can be styled in endless new ways. We love them with a tight crop tank for Summer, and layered with long sleeves and sweaters for winter. The adjustable tie waist is great for days when you're feeling bigger or smaller than usual, and the patch pocket holds your essentials. Made from a natural denim, these babies are a classic workwear basics that you'll style endlessly for years.
