This is the proudest we've been of a product in a long time. These rugs check all of our boxes. They’re a clever use of our treasured fabric scraps, they’re functional and a joy to use, and they’re stylish as hell.
Our Strata Rugs brilliantly use both woven and jersey fabric scraps from our garment production. They’re like encyclopedias of our past collections, and if you’re an astute STATE fan you’ll definitely be able to identify some of your favorite pieces. Made in house by textile artist Maddie Zerkel, these rugs are no small feat. They entail a 7 step process that is meticulous to organize and physically demanding to sew. The hard work is worth it, and results in a cozy and thick rug that feels so luxe to stand on.
The intricate process of making these rugs was passed on to Adrienne by her textile mentor, Ellen Kochansky, who she lived and worked with when she was 19. Ellen's work celebrates sustainability and was a major influence when starting STATE and how we've shaped the company. She gave our team her blessing on using this method and it's a beautiful full-circle moment.
The Electric Oat color-way combines whites, naturals, blacks and greys, and stripes for a creamy neutral tone. We threw in some neon yellow terry from our Hi-Vis Swayers to make it POP, and the effect is *chef's kiss*.
Use them in your bathroom, kitchen, entry, by your bed, or as your favorite pet's bed, for an eclectic touch of texture and color.
And, they’re machine washable, because we know life is dirty :)
