In this 6 hour class, students will learn the basics felting. Focusing on the wet felting technique, students will explore making their own textiles with various fleeces (wool, alpaca, etc.). STATE Designer Adrienne Antonson uses her experience of living and working on an alpaca farm in the NW to explain the basics of fiber structure, processing, and felting. By the end of the course, students will have learned how to create seamless felt pieces, as well as experimenting with 3D forms and techniques. The class will touch on Nuno felt as well as needle felting for sculpture or enforcement to your wet felt.
