After a handful of unsuccessful sketches of what this dress could be, we threw caution to the wind and jumped in. Heeeeaaaad first. Just how we like to do it. With absolutely no plan, a pleasing palette was selected, tools gathered (brushes, rollers, sponges), and the first mark was made. Each color and shape became a reaction to the previous move and the dress evolved in the organic way that great things do.
Made as part of a limited batch, each dress is carefully painted one by one. Our House Dress silhouette is flattering on all shapes and truly is a year round piece. It can go from day to night, a casual hang to a fancy night out. For instance: Adrienne wore it last night to an opening in our gallery. Afterwards, we headed to CC's improv show and the night had gotten chillier. Adrienne added some new STATE sweatpants (coming soon!) peeking out underneath, and layered over an old favorite flannel, tied high and tight to cinch the waist. Same dress, two very different looks. House Dresses were made to be versatile in exactly this way, and we hope it inspires many fun combos for seasons to come.
