QUILT COAT / GUTHRIE

There are two pieces that I selfishly made in this collection that are for no other reason than I really want them in my own wardrobe. One is this coat. Inspired by a very beloved and sentimental flannel shirt that I’ve worn into the ground (it literally looks like it’s been through a shark attack, yet I still wear it weekly in all it’s shredded-armed, and torn collar glory). The warmth and love that shirt has given me for the last 20 years is irreplaceable, and I know it's time to retire it. But it’s leaving a gaping hole in my wardrobe.

I wanted the same shirt, but heartier. Something I could wear everyday, for years, and it’d keep me even warmer. We came across the fuzziest Japanese flannel, quilted with a natural cotton batting at its core, and lined it with an equally soft flannel in a contrasting color scheme. Two patch pockets keep your hands warm, and the striped denim elbows turn heads. This jacket is a labor of love - every stitch is sewn in house, start to finish. 

I'm so glad the collection has launched so I can officially steal the sample and never take it off.
